While cycling in the Canadian Rockies, a World UNESCO Heritage Site, you are surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery at every turn.  You are never far from majestic views of the mountains and valleys that make up a series of glacial ranges that go for hundreds of kilometers.  From Banff to Jasper and back to Lake Louise, the Canadian Rockies offers a magnificent gathering of beauty and majesty, all in one frame.  Our carefully, curated cycling routes explore both the lands and some of the bluest lakes in Canada, carved by glaciers over 10,000 years ago. Charming lodges, with superb local cuisine, combined with selected days, in remote locations, where we prepare picnic lunches, will complete your daily cycling experiences.  As you embrace the dark nightfalls in this serene wilderness, know we are sharing these dramatic landscapes and glacier-filled lakes with all of nature, with possible sightings of elk, moose, mountain goats and bears in their natural habitat!

*New tour launch discount based on double occupancy and 50% deposit. Cannot be combined with any other discount except Pedal & Sea Adventures’ Returning Guest Loyalty Program. Loyalty Program discount applied to remaining balance 30 days after booking. Terms and conditions apply. Promotion expires: March 31, 2026.

Itinerary

Day one — 17.8 km / 11.1 mi (easy)

After meeting up with our guides in Banff early in the morning, we will snake our way through the mountain ranges and the spectacular Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in North America, to one of the jewels of this UNESCO region, Jasper National Park, the largest National Park in the Canadian Rockies.  Stopping for lunch along the way, once in Jasper, the start of the tour, we will do bike fitting, have our first safety talk, and take a short ride around the area to get all the travel cobwebs shaken loose. We have dinner together that evening, conducting our initial tour briefing for the rest of the week’s activities.

Day Two — 67.5 km / 41.2 mi (moderate)

Today’s scenic ride will be an out and back. Once on our bikes, we will cycle towards Jacques Lake Trailhead, with incredible views of the Queen Elizabeth Mountain Range, surrounded by forests, mountain valleys and landscapes. After lunch we will take in a short walk to Maligne Canyon, filled with flowing rivers and streams on limestone beds.  Be sure to pack your walking shoes in a day bag to be left in the support van. Once back at the van, we will jump back on our bikes to cycle back to Jasper in time for you to have a rest, change and take in dinner on your own.

Day Three —  57.9 km / 36 mi (moderate)

After breakfast, we will begin a short cycle to the base of Mt. Edith Cavell Road, home to some of the most iconic alpine scenery in Jasper National Park.  We will do an easy but spectacular walk (1.8km/1.1 Mile) along the Glacier Trail offering . We then cycle to Leach Lake , where we will enjoy lunch. Once back on the bikes, we will continue on to Sunwapta Falls Resort, where we stay for the night.  Once settled and rested, we will enjoy a  group dinner together.

Day Four — 50 km / 31.1 mi (easy)

Today, we will combine a professionally guided tour of the Athabasca Icefields Parkway, a UNESCO site, with a great cycle through mountain lakes and vistas to complete the afternoon. After breakfast, dress in warm layers including a windbreaker, gloves and maybe a hat, for our transfer to the guided Icewalk.  We will walk age old ice formations, streams from meltwater as well as icefalls, making sure your adrenaline is fed with breathtaking formations.  Our professional Icewalk guides will provide all guests with their own crampons for walking, gloves and raingear. This is an approx. 3.5 hr. excursion. We will then change into gear for your cycling ride across awe-inspiring landscapes to The Crossing Resort, our stop for the night. Dinner will be on your own.

Day Five — 82.1 km / 51 mi (moderate – intermediate)

Today, we will cycle to Lake Louise, a magnificent and world-renowned UNESCO setting nestled in the crosshairs of mountains, valleys and amazing blue/green lakes. Once on our bikes, we will leave The Crossing Resort and head to Waterfowl Lake, perhaps taking in wildlife as we pedal onward to the Bow Summit area. We will then shuttle everyone for 30 minutes to Moraine Lake, one of the most distinct bodies of blue azure water in the Rockies that acts as a backdrop against the Ten Peaks, and gather for a Group Photo, one very difficult to top in your collection.  We will then cycle from Crossing Resort all the way to Lake Louise, a jewel of the Banff National Park, where we will spend the night after a group dinner.

Day Six — 51.8 km / 32.2 mi (easy – moderate)

After an early breakfast, we will cycle from storied Lake Louise to historic Banff on our last day together. This area, the 3rd National Park established in the World, and Canada’s 1st, will test your visual and nasal senses as the imagery and freshness overwhelms your body’s ability to absorb. It is about a 3.5-4 hour cycling day which will leave everyone wanting more. Despite the cycling, the experience will have everyone upbeat as you reflect on your weeklong journey through the Canadian Rockies! We will ensure we get you to your drop off by 12 noon so you can continue on your intrepid journey through the scenic Canadian Rockies or head home to retell your glacial experiences to others.

Absolutely! All bike types are welcome—road, gravel, hybrid, or e‑bike. If you’d prefer to ride your own bike, we’ll transport it for you on the back of the van if needed. Our team can also assist with basic maintenance and adjustments throughout the trip to keep you rolling smoothly.

Yes – all of our rental bikes come equipped with a rear bag (pannier or trunk bag) or a small bag (Road bike) to carry essentials like snacks, cameras, or extra layers while you ride. Larger luggage will be transported separately by our support van each day.

Our tours run rain or shine! We recommend packing quality rain gear and layers so you can stay comfortable in wet weather. If the conditions become unsafe (such as high winds or lightning), our support van will be available to shuttle you and your bike to the next stop. We always adapt plans to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Yes! If you’d like to take a break from cycling, you’re welcome to ride in the support van to the next destination. Some guests choose to take a day off to relax and recharge by enjoying the views form the van. You are always able to call it a day cycling or start cycling at any point throughout the ride.

Travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We strongly recommend purchasing your own travel insurance to cover trip cancellations, medical expenses, lost luggage, and any unexpected events before or during the tour.

Yes – we provide GPS routes for every tour. Before your trip, you’ll receive digital route files that can be used on a GPS device or smartphone app.

We recommend bringing one to two carry‑on sized suitcases per person. This helps us fit everyone’s bags comfortably in the support van. Larger items are best left at home, but we can assist with storing any extra luggage that won’t be needed during the tour.
