This Bike & Boat adventure invites you to explore the best of the Ionian Sea, blending world-class coastal cycling with the ease and intimacy of living aboard a tall ship sailing yacht. Designed for travelers seeking a genuine adventure without the hassle, you will unpack just once, leaving behind hotel transfers and repacking to let the rhythm of the sea carry you from one stunning destination to the next.
Each day delivers dynamic morning rides through dramatic coastal passes, lush mainland valleys, and iconic island villages across Corfu, Paxoi, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Ithaca, and Lefkada. To suit your riding style, we offer hybrid bikes, carbon road bikes, and e-bikes to flatten the climbs so your energy is spent soaking in the sweeping views.
Afternoons are reserved for relaxation, whether that means a scenic sail to the next port, a spontaneous swim stop in secluded turquoise bays, or lingering over fresh seafood at a waterfront taverna. With small groups, experienced local guides, and our yacht as your homebase, it is the ultimate way to experience Greece from the saddle and aboard a tall ship.
Day One — Corfu to Parga (Cruising Day)
Your journey begins in Corfu Town, where you board the yacht and get settled in before casting off for the mainland port of Parga. The crossing gives you your first real feel for how this trip works, the sea does the travelling, you do the relaxing. Watch the coast of Corfu slip away and let the rhythm of the Ionian set the tone for what lies ahead. Tonight, we will enjoy our Welcome Dinner on board. You will have your first big ride already waiting on the other side of morning.
Day Two — Parga to Ammoudia & Paxoi, 50 km / 31 mi (easy to moderate)
Today the real fun begins! You ride out of Parga and head inland through the lush river country around Glyki, following a route that winds back down to the coast at Ammoudia, a satisfying arc through some of the most unspoilt scenery on the Greek mainland. Back aboard in Ammoudia, you sail to the small island of Paxoi, where there’s time to wander the harbour, browse the olive-shaded lanes, and find a table at a waterfront taverna. If conditions are right, a possible swim stop along the way to Kefalonia makes for a perfect interlude, just clear water, warm air, and no agenda.
Day Three — Kefalonia (Agia Effimia to Sami), 42 km / 26 mi (moderate and at times challenging)
Kefalonia greets you at the small port of Agia Effimia, and today’s ride loses no time in showing you what this island does best. The road climbs through the village of Karia and up to the famous viewpoint above Myrtos Beach, one of those views that stops you in your tracks no matter how many times you’ve seen it in photographs. A stop at Melissani Cave, with its extraordinary underground lake and shafts of coloured light, adds something genuinely memorable to the day. The afternoon sailing leg to Zakynthos gives your legs a well-earned rest and sets you up for tomorrow’s island.
Day Four — Zakynthos (Zakynthos Town to Agios Nikolaos), 49 km / 30 mi (moderate)
Zakynthos has a character all of its own, and today’s ride takes you through it at exactly the right pace. You leave Zakynthos Town and work your way across the island toward Agios Nikolaos, passing through olive groves and quiet hillside roads that give you a real sense of the island’s rural life away from the tourist trail. With the yacht waiting to carry you onward to Ithaca, the evening sail into Vathy, the intimate little capital of Ithaca, is one of the quieter, more beautiful arrivals of the whole trip.
Day Five — Ithaca (Vathy Loop), 46 km / 29 mi (moderate and at times challenging)
Ithaca, the island that Homer made legendary—deserves more than a passing glance, and today’s loop ride makes sure you get it. Setting out from Vathy, you ride north through the island toward the village of Stavros and on to the fishing harbour of Frikes before circumnavigating back to where you started. It’s a route that rewards steady pedalling with views, village squares, and the particular stillness that Ithaca seems to carry everywhere. Back on the water, you sail via the island of Kalamos toward Mytikas on the mainland where we will enjoy dinner.
Day Six — Mytikas to Vathiavali & Lefkada, 45 km / 28 mi (moderate)
Leaving the mainland port of Mytikas this morning, you ride through a quieter, less-visited stretch of western Greece, through Kandila and Palairos before finishing at the small bay of Vathiavali. This part of the route feels a little off the beaten track in the best possible way: fewer cars, more of the real Greece, and the kind of roads where e-bikes earn their keep on the climbs. The afternoon brings two short sails, a call at the small island of Meganisi, worth a wander if time allows, before pressing on to Lefkada for the night. It’s a gentle, well-paced end to a full day where you can stroll the port town and enjoy dinner on your own.
Day Seven — Lefkada (Vasiliki to Nydri), 44 km / 27 mi (challenging)
The final riding day starts in Vasiliki and heads north through Lefkada’s dramatic interior toward the busy marina town of Nydri, a fitting last chapter that packages together everything the trip does well: climbing, descending, and arriving somewhere with a good reason to sit down and eat. From Nydri, you sail up to Lefkada Town before the long evening crossing back to Corfu, where a proper farewell dinner aboard marks the end of the adventure. The lights of Corfu Town appear on the water ahead as a reminder of how far you’ve come, and how good a week it’s been.
Day Eight — Corfu Town
After a final morning aboard, it’s time to disembark in Corfu Town between 9-10 AM. After breakfast on board, with goodbyes exchanged, know you’ve cycled through six islands and the Greek mainland without once checking in to a hotel. Safe travels, and start planning the next one.
