Enjoy a refreshing swim before our Welcome Dinner on the boat. Settle in, watch the amazing sunset. Your guides will share the week’s exciting itinerary for your Amazing Greek Bike & Boat Adventure!
Day Two – 58 km / 36.3 mi
After breakfast, be prepared to start your first ride of the week, leaving the port of Nafplio heading towards the ancient archaeological ruins of Mycenae, a legendary UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home of the fabled kingdom of Agamemnon. Journey back over 3000 years seeing ruins from the Bronze Age to Hellenistic Period. Lunch at a Greek Taverna- your first of many fabulous local Greek food flavours! Energized, continue your ride through Greece’s largest citrus and olive groves. Pausing for a sweet pastry and a coffee stop, then cycle back to Nafplio for the night. You are free, at your own pace, to explore the town, its promenade, winding venetian alleys, and artisan shops, while choosing one of its excellent tavernas or restaurants for dinner on your own.
Day Three – 53.5 km / 33.55 mi
Rise early for an exhilarating day through one of Greece’s most stunning coastal and rolling hills routes, from Paralio Astros, with its medieval castle, all the way to Leonidio. After a quick stop for coffee, you’ll back to the boat for lunch. Your Guides will provide a Greek history and language lesson as you sail to historic Monemvasia, the Gibraltar of the East! Explore the once powerful medieval castle fortress and commercial center of the Eastern Mediterranean. This fortress town is completely hidden from the mainland, carved into the side of massive rock. Dinner is another food highlight of the week, where the tables will overflow with traditional dishes and flavors too abundant to list!
Day Four – 36.2 km / 22.62 mi
Your adventure takes you through a truly breathtaking region of southern Greece. Your journey will lead to the island of Elafonisos, often celebrated as the “Caribbean of Greece,” where you’ll be captivated by the turquoise waters and powdery white sand. You will have ample time to discover the island, cycling its perimeter. As evening arrives, wander this charming town on your own, savoring the local flavors.
Day Five – 47.84 km / 29.9 mi
Today will be an eventful cycling experience as you traverse two islands while taking in the unique local culture. After breakfast, you cycle a loop around Spetses, an island famous for its pivotal role in the 1821 Greek War of Independence and its charming, car-free main town. Then hop, with your bikes, on a quick ferry ride to the mainland and cycle to the town of Ermione. Have lunch on the boat while heading to the island of Hydra. You’ll have time to explore this enchanting, vehicle-free island where donkeys handle all transportation for residents and guests alike. To cap off the day, you’ll sail back to Ermione for another fantastic dining experience in town.
Day Six – 62.4 km / 39.02 mi
We leave Ermioni cycling a coastal route with serene landscapes and constant sea views on our way to Poros Island. Known for lush pine forests, you ride with spectacular views above the neoclassical town of Galatas. A quick hop on the ferry, you finish your morning cycle in Poros, where you will have a choice for an optional cycle after lunch or choose to explore the town on your own. Enjoy dinner on your own in town tonight.
