Cycle and Cruise Northern Croatia Rijeka to Trogir
Discover a dramatic coastline and a string of islands dotted with hidden coves on our new cycling tour through Northern Croatia’s islands. Your adventure will start on our private boat in the historical city of Rijeka, where the oldest traces of human presence in this area date back to the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods, and the remnants of prehistoric castles date to the Bronze and Iron Ages. From there you’ll visit the islands of Cres, Lošinj, and Dugi Otok among others. We will also visit the old town of Zadar, home to more than 3,000 years of history. Experiencing Croatia by bicycle and boat is the only way to find the heart of this diverse and poetic country. We look forward to sharing it with you!

Rijeka to Trogir Cycle and Cruise Tour Itinerary
Day One — Cres, 5 - 10 km (easy; 1 mile = 1.6 km)
We suggest you arrive in Rijeka as early as possible to give yourself some time to explore this lovely port town on your own. Filled with history, you could spend hours exploring the city, but do make sure you find our boat at the pier before you start to wander! After check-in at noon, our motorized boat will take you to Cres where you will have your first bicycle ride of the week. The ride around the town of Cres will be short and easy to give you the chance to get familiar with your bike.
Day Two — Cres to Lošinj, 45 km (easy to moderate)
During breakfast our boat will bring you to Martinščica for the start of our bike ride. You will ride across the whole island of Cres and Lošinj. On the way, if you are lucky, you will have the opportunity to see griffons, which are protected on the island of Cres. In the town of Osor, we will likely enjoy a coffee break and then continue cycling over a channel built by the Romans. Today we will cycle across a small bridge that connects Cres and Losinj all the way to the wonderful town of Mali Lošinj. This is where you will spend the night.
Day Three — Lošinj and Zadar, 20 km (easy)
Today's ride is a gentle cycle around the wonderful bay of Čikat—one of the most popular places in the country for health tourism. Once you pass Čikat bay you will come to Veli Lošinj, a lovely town to stop and enjoy a morning coffee, after which you will cycle back to our boat. After lunch, we sail to Zadar, passing through a marine protected area for dolphins. Zadar is a historical town that dates back more than 3,000 years. Zadar will charm you with its narrow streets and well-preserved history. Before dinner, you will enjoy a guided city tour.
Day Four — Dugi Otok, 42 km (moderate)
Today, we start with a sail to the island Dugi Otok. There you will cycle through the middle of the island on roads with stunning panoramic views. This is a spectacular ride! At the end of the island, you will meet up with our boat once again and spend the night in the beautiful town of Sali.
Day Five — Dugi Otok, 20 km (moderate)
Today’s ride continues on the southern part of the island, into the the nature park of Telašćica. After we visit the nature park we will cycle back to the boat. In the afternoon, we sail through Kornati National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Croatia and home to around 150 islands in an area of 300 square km. The crystal-clear water and beauty of the islands will inspire many photos. Our place for the night is island of Zlarin, very famous for its corals. Place, where people use traditional methods to make coral jewellery.
Day Six — Vodice and Skradin, 38 km (moderate)
Today’s bicycle ride will show you another side of the country. Though never far from the coast, you will cycle on the mainland through small villages and vineyards, passing through areas that remind us of the war that happened only 20 years ago in Croatia. In Skradin we meet our boat for lunch, and in the afternoon you will visit the Krka National Park—home to a series of cascading waterfalls. After your visit to the park, our boat sails on the Krka river to Šibenik, a UNESCO historical town, where we will spend the night.
Day Seven — Primošten and Trogir, 40 km (moderate at times challenging)
In the morning, we sail to Primošten and head out on our last ride of the week. The ride will have you once again cycling through a number of small villages. The big reward of the day will be the panoramic view of Trogir and the nearby island of Čiovo. After lunch you will have time to enjoy Trogir’s Old Town—another UNESCO World Heritage site.
Day Eight — Trogir
This morning, you will enjoy a final breakfast on the boat while reminiscing about the week’s adventures. If your journey has you exploring more of this country, let us know as perhaps we can help suggest itinerary ideas.
